Class of 2015: Q&A’s about the exams!

April 24th, 2010 · 2 Comments · Announcements

This week in lifeskills you looked at what to do if you are feeling stressed about the exams.  Remember if you have prepared yourself well you have nothing to worry about. Deep breathing will help calm your nerves on Monday and a good nights sleep and healthy breakfast will ensure you are able to perform your best each day! If you still feel worried TALK to someone – your parents, friends, tutor, me!

Here are the questions you asked with  answers.

What happens onMonday if we finish early. Do we go to PE?

At the end of the English exam you will be told what to do.

What happens if I miss a day?

If you are really unwell this cannot be helped. You must ensure a parent contacts Marielos before 7am and when you return to school Ms Bradburn will arrange for you to do the exams you have missed.

Why do 7a,b and c have more time for the Art exam?

This is an error on the timetable.  All groups have the same time.

What happens if we are late for an exam?

This should not happen as you need to be outside the exam room 10 minutes before each exam.  For exams in the Auditorium you should be lined up in tutor groups on the basketball courts. If you are unavoidably late to school, register with Marielos and go straight to the exam or classroom you should be.

Are all grade 7 going to be in the auditorium at the same time?

Yes.

What happens if I really really need to go to the bathroom?

You should go to the bathroom before each exam.  However, if you have an emergency then raise your hand and a teacher will escort you to the bathroom. Remember you will lose time in the exam.

What happens after the last exam on Friday. Can we go home?

You will go home at 1.50pm.  At the end of the maths exam you will be told where to go.

Can we read a book when we finish an exam if we finish early?

No you may only take equipment into the exam. When you finish an exam use your time wisely to thoroughly check and each answer. If this is done properly it should take as long as it took you to do the exam!

Why do we leave so late?

We hope that if everyone is in school until 1.50pm you will use your time more effectively to revise for the next exams.

May we listen to music during the Art exam?

No you may not listen to music.

Can we study whatever topic during normal lesons?

Yes this is your decision.  Only Monday morning will be normal lessons where the teacher will decide.

What happens if the exam falls down or flies away and someone sees it?

If your exam falls on the floor raise your hand and a teacher will come and pick it up for you.  Noone should look at your paper as everyone should be concentrating on their own exam. Looking at someone elses answers will be counted as cheating.

Can you move the science exam to period 2 PLEASE so we have more time to study?

The exam timetable has been finalised to accomodate grade 6,7 and 8 exams and there will be no further changes.  An extra 45 minutes should make very little difference.

Your tutors and I wish you the very best of luck in all your exams and are very proud of you for showing such a positive and responsible attitude in preparing yourself for these exams.

” I loved everything; just that theres no shower!”

” I achieved to make the high wire!”

” It was awesome. The mountain biking was a bit difficult”
